Vice President of Sales and Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced, well-rounded Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead all aspects of sales and marketing for our four brands, with a focus on developing an overarching sales and marketing strategy, objectives, policies and programs for Rhino. Critical to this individual’s success will be the ability to develop and execute new and innovative marketing and sales approaches, while improving upon those already in use—all to enhance and drive top-line revenue growth and margin improvements.

The VP of Sales and Marketing will be a strategic partner to the President and will be responsible for all brand, advertising, marketing and product promotions. This newly formed position will be held by a

positive leader and player who is able to develop high-performance teams and work well within our existing leadership structure, while also looking for ways in which they can serve as a change agent to help Rhino become even better at what it does.

The ideal candidate will bring a level of urgency, experience and sophistication in account management and direct go-to-market strategy. He or she will be action-, deadline- and accountability-oriented, focused on attention to detail and accuracy, and have excellent interpersonal skills able to interact with diverse personality types.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure high-quality execution of all sales and marketing campaigns through effective management of internal/external parities and cross-functional relationships.
  • Retain if not improve relationships with key accounts, while expanding Rhino’s market share through new relationships.
  • Lead design and implementation of effective marketing tools to evaluate ROI on marketing initiatives including product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools and competitive analysis to successfully meet or exceed revenue goals. .
  • Research key customer wants and needs, and effectively communicate these needs to product development, marketing and sales teams.
  • Conduct and present insightful analyses on major sales and marketing initiatives, challenges, and opportunities; recommend solutions that can be easily interpreted by non-analytical partners.
  • Develop and execute an annual sales and marketing business plan including objectives for everyone on sales and marketing teams and related accountabilities and KPIs with which to gauge their successes and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee customer service and coordinate with product design and quality control; resolve customer complaints in an effective and respectful manner.
  • Direct, manage and develop sales and marketing team members. Design and integrate new processes to enhance team performance; establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process.
  • Conduct personnel activities such as hiring, training, work and staff scheduling, resource allocation; establish employee developmental plan at the beginning of the year in collaboration with each direct report.

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • BS or BA degree in Marketing, Sales or a related field.
  • Ten or more years of relevant work experience in sales operations, business planning, marketing, or sales support/marketing support management roles.
  • Strong P&L ownership including setting sales/expense forecasts and budgets.
  • Ten years of experience leading others, including challenging people and situations.
  • Experience leading and championing projects.
  • Managed multiple projects and deals under tight timelines.
  • Cultivated strong trusting stakeholder relationships at executive levels.
  • Data analysis experience necessary for measuring and analyzing online marketing campaigns including organic and paid search, email, affiliate, display and social.
  • Full-time, on-site leadership

SOFT SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Experience building a sales and marketing management infrastructure capable of maintaining strong quarter-to-quarter revenue growth rates while demonstrating strong pipeline, process forecasting, demand generation and sales assessment predictability.
  • A solid, experience-based understanding of both B2B and B2C selling, including experience working with or within a sales team to optimize sell-cycles, selling approaches, handling objections, proposals and contracts.
  • A set of personal characteristics that include superb business judgment and strategic thinking coupled with tactical business sense, a can-do and collaborative attitude and a value system focusing on delivering quality.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and a relentless drive for growth.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • A proven, strong, aspirational leadership style with a consistent ability to motivate.
  • Superior verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to recognize good creative work in others.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor and grow a team of marketing and sales professionals over time.
  • Ability to listen to and partner with sales leaders to understand customer requirements and feedback.
  • Proven ability to perform in-depth analysis, synthesize results, develop reports and make recommendations to business and technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional project management skills.
  • An up-to-date understanding of website design, development/support, SEO, geofencing, data analytics, social media, and old-fashioned personal-relationship marketing.
  • Current in the use of technology necessary to perform this job well.
  • A passion for, and solid understanding of, the latest sales and marketing technologies and interactive tools for internal and/or external use.
  • Ability and willingness to self-reflect for continuous development.

    $170 to $190k depending upon experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk about the facility as needed.
  • Comfort and ability to be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat and cold.
